Sizes & condition
Sizes
The size on each page is the one written on the label. Vintage sizes often run differently from today's, and a piece may have shrunk or been altered over the years: trust the measurements, not the label.
How we measure
Every piece is measured by hand, laid flat, in centimetres. Pit to pit: from one underarm seam to the other, across the front (×2 is the chest). Length: from the highest point of the shoulder down to the hem (trousers and skirts: from the waistband to the hem). Sleeve: from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff. Waist: across the waistband, buttoned (×2 is the circumference). Inseam: from the crotch to the hem.
The easiest way to check the fit: lay a similar piece of yours that fits well and measure it the same way.
Condition
New with tags — never worn, original tags attached. New without tags — never worn, no tags. Excellent condition — worn little, no visible flaws. Good condition — normal signs of wear, small flaws described and photographed. Fair condition — visible wear or flaws, all described and photographed: the price takes it into account.
